Neon-Lithic Night Light, Sea Turtle
2" x 2". 1/3 watt replaceble neon bulb.
Artist Kevin Aguilar's outstanding series of night lights, which he calls Neon Lithics (lights in stone), are reminiscent of Indian cave paintings. The charming design motifs are carved, in petroglyph fashion, into a rock like shape made of hydrostone and resin. These night lights have been a big hit in California, Arizona and New Mexico for more than 10 years. They make great, one of a kind gifts, as well as creating a warm glow in your own home. The small, 1/3 watt Neon Lithics bulbs feature an amber glow that creates a soft silhouette of the rock shape. Each Neon Lithic is thoughtfully designed to be plugged into the top of the electrical outlet, allowing access to the bottom portion of the outlet. Kevin Aguilar creates his images from his own original photographs. He then edits the image and alter the colors to create a new view of something familiar. "I paint natural subjects, mostly plant forms of the Southwest: cactus, succulents and agaves," he says. "They are captivating, seductive and expressive on so many levels. The plants are beautifully designed to survive. I admire them as symbols of stability, calm, quiet and more." Be sure to see our entire collection of Kevin's work.
